Growing the Church in a Restricted Access Nation
Over the past couple of years Taking New Ground has had the opportunity to work with a passionate and sacrificial group of leaders from a restricted access nation near Thailand. We have the opportunity to visit these leaders again in person this November. They face some of the greatest persecution that I’ve seen anywhere, yet the church thrives. But, what happens if you add to that a global pandemic? I’m glad you asked.
I just received an update that I’d like to share with you. We will not be posting this update to our website for security reasons, and I’ve redacted the names of people and locations. The results below highlight growth since our November 2019 visit. Here’s the letter (with names and locations removed):

Praying all is well during this pandemic!
Here is some awesome info. that — & — were able to gather:
Municipal of —: 48 new believers, 12 people baptized, no new house church.
— province: 70 people accepted Jesus Christ, 24 baptized, and 5 new house churches being an established.
— provinces: 17 people accepted Jesus Christ, no body baptized, and 1 new house church.
— province: 63 people accepted Jesus Christ, 36 people baptized, and no new house churches.
—: 47 people accepted Jesus Christ, 4 baptized, and 2 new house churches.
— province: 30 people accepted Jesus, 10 people baptized, and 2 new house churches.
— province: 111 people accepted Jesus Christ, 85 baptized, and 2 new house churches.
— province: 35 people accepted Jesus Christ, 20 baptized, and 1 new house church.
— province: 45 people accepted Jesus Christ, 31 people baptized, and 2 new house churches.
— province: 250 accepted Jesu Christ, 300 people baptized, and 4 new house churches.
— province: 100 people accepted Jesus Christ, 60 baptized, and 3 new house churches.
— province: 21 people accepted Jesus Christ, 45 baptized, and 3 new house churches.
Total: 837 new believers, 627 baptized and 25 new house churches.
Despite the virus or slow-down, the church is growing!
