What’s Next For Taking New Ground?

I wanted to send out a quick update on what’s next for Taking New Ground!

Where Have We Been?

So far Taking New Ground has worked in Albania, Macedonia, and the Dominican Republic. In these countries we’ve also worked with leaders from Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Kosovo. It’s been an exciting and fruitful start to this ministry, and we’re only just getting started!

Where Are We Going?

Beginning later this week Taking New Ground kicks off a busy second half of the year in India, Uganda, Siberia, Thailand and The Philippines. In each of these countries we often have leaders from neighboring nations. For example, in India we will be working with leaders from Burma, Myanmar, Nepal, and Afghanistan.

What Are We Planning?

This year my goal is to apprentice with Joe, follow him around the globe, and learn from the master. Later this year I’ll actually be headed to Russia without him, and next year, I’ll be leading new countries on my own. In 2019 we will be returning to many of the countries we worked in this year, but we are also working with contacts on the ground in several new countries, like Croatia, Bulgaria, and the Republic of Georgia.

What Results Are We Seeing?

We work to catalyze movements of reproducing churches by bringing leaders in a nation together, helping them dream big dreams about what God can do in their nations, forming relationships that lead to cooperation, and providing tools for leadership development and missional culture formation. The result:

  • Faith is activated, and people begin to see what God can do in their lives, through their leadership, for the glory of God in their countries.
  • Churches begin working together across denominational barriers, networks are formed based on relationships toward the end goal of mission, and new churches with missional cultures are planted.
  • The lost are reached, disciples are made, and eternal destinies are forever changed!

My mentor and partner, Joe Wilson of New Churches Now, has helped plant 441 churches in 16 countries. Our model works!

What Can You Do?

  • PRAY: Continue to pray for this ministry. Pray for the continued favor of God on the work, a growing financial support base, the leaders and churches we work with around the world, and my family.
  • GIVE: If you are not currently a financial supporter of Taking New Ground, we need you! The travel packed second half of 2018 is an expensive season for this ministry. We are off to a great start on building a solid financial support team, but we need to grow that team to cover the ongoing and growing needs of this ministry. You can join our support team at TakingNewGround.org/Give.
  • NETWORK: Help us raise awareness of Taking New Ground by 1)sharing about this ministry with your church leadership teams, 2) liking and sharing our social media posts (see links below), and 3) connecting us with other mission minded individuals who might help fund this ministry.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
