Equipped to Multiply
STORY FROM THE FIELD • BHUTAN
Ibrahim once tried to stop a local church planter from sharing the Gospel in his village. But an unexpected friendship, a New Testament, and the story of Jesus changed the direction of his life.
Mani's Story
Brother Mani and other believers in Bhutan understood that their calling was to reach people with the Gospel. But knowing the mission and knowing how to carry it out effectively were not always the same thing.
Like many local leaders, Mani wanted to see people come to faith and grow as disciples, but he needed practical tools and a clearer framework for how that could happen in a way that would continue multiplying.
A Desire to Reach Others
Clarity Through Training
Through leadership and discipleship training, Mani began to see the work differently.
The training helped connect evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and church multiplication into a clearer process. Rather than simply gathering people or maintaining existing ministry, leaders were challenged to equip others who could carry the work forward.
Mani described the experience as giving him greater clarity and confidence in how to fulfill the mission God had placed before him.
For Mani, the impact went beyond learning new methods.
He saw growth not only in what leaders knew, but in how they understood their own lives as followers of Christ. The training reinforced that multiplication begins with disciples who are themselves growing, serving, and helping others do the same.
That shift—from simply receiving knowledge to intentionally making disciples—was significant.
More Than Knowledge
Equipped to Multiply
Today, leaders like Mani are part of a growing network of indigenous believers being equipped to reach communities across Bhutan.
Because they already understand the language, culture, relationships, and challenges of the communities they serve, they are uniquely positioned to take what they have learned and pass it on to others.
Taking New Ground’s role is to come alongside leaders like Mani with training, coaching, and resources—helping strengthen locally led ministry that can continue multiplying from one leader, disciple, and community to the next.
